Zynga Inc., known world over for its social media games like FarmVille and CastleVille, is now eyeing the poker games fan base. Recently, the gaming operator launched its poker app, Zynga Poker Leagues. With this feature, the company not just aims to widen its services, but also to provide an authentic, free-to-play version of a live casino experience to its players.
Everyone has a chance at the league
The eight-week long league is expected to be received well by poker players, as every user, irrespective of whether he/she is a part of the tournament or not, can win big prizes. Players will be pitted against as many as 100 competitors and the one with the highest League Points will top the leader board. The grand prize is a Ford Shelby GT500, while there are many electronic gadgets and holiday tickets to be won too. However, the grand prize needs to be unlocked by collecting a total of 250 billion chips.
Bringing back the love for poker
Zynga has been long-standing in the league of social gaming providers and has several hits under its kitty. However, its casino franchise has just one core product – Zynga Poker, which has been losing its followers lately. With the launch of the tournament feature, it plans to get back its lost glory. Though Zynga Poker is still among the most preferred social media-based casino games among players, its growth rate has been quite slow over past few months.
Zynga has, however, been taking steps in the direction and has also developed a mobile version of the game, based on the feedback given by its players. Apart from that, it has also launched another game Hit it Rich! According to the reports by Pokerscout.com, Zynga still holds the numero uno position in the poker gaming market. It is followed by PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker at the second and third places respectively.
